우리는 작사를 할 때 마치 남성이 가장 잘 보이고 싶어하는 여성을 대하듯이 작업한다. 가사에 온 정성을 기울이는 것이다. 다른 장르의 음악은 가사가 얼마나 중요한지 잊은 듯 하다. We treat the lyrics like the woman any man wants to impress the most. We give the lyrics all the attention we can. I’m not sure other formats are remembering that the lyrics are what it’s all about.




컨트리 음악은 형식이 짜여진 편지와 같다. 빈칸을 채우면 된다. 상처받은 어떤 마음에서 다음 상처로, 이 결혼에서 저 이혼으로, 마음의 고동도 이곳에서 저곳으로 옮겨 다닌다. Country music is a form letter. You fill in the blanks. You move from one broken heart to the next one and from this marriage to that divorce, from a beating here to a beating there.
