Recently through the Internet I reconnected with Rodney Johnson, an old friend from New Mexico with whom I had lost touch. We had been students of Korean language together in the 1990s at Seoul National University, after which I returned to the States to pursue a doctorate, while Rodney stayed in Korea to become a businessman just at the moment Korea was opening its economic doors to the outside.
